Hey there, just wanted to say that I have a bit of the flu at the moment. Feel all crappy and lethargic and kinda in a pathetic need for sympathy and cheering up. Jeez, how pathetic! I hate being sick.
Somehow, Sexxy Sixxy always manages to make me feel better... MWAH!

I'm going to write a Living End gig review.

The Living End State Of Emergency tour presents...
Me! As a reviewer!!!
Stay tuned everyone, I could well be publishing my first music / gig review any day now... I am writing a review of The Living End gig this friday nite. Its for a very cool music website. I get a free ticket to the gig and hopefully a BY-LINE from it too!!! If it gets published I will let you know. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I wonder if I get to wear a PRESS pass at the gig??? My name WILL be on the door as PRESS!!! How cool would that be?
Aaaah the writing dream has begun!!!

Culinary delights... Are you interested?

I have come to the conclusion that sometimes I love indian soooo much and lasagne sooooo much and fish and chips... Yep, sooooo much, that I am going to endeavour to try a new restaurant/cuisine once a month. This could well be just a new restaurant other than my fave in a certain cuisine, just to see what other stuff is like out there or a new cuisine altogether...
The first one that I have decided to try (again) is Spanish. I went to a beautiful Spanish restaurant in Sydney when I went with the girls years ago and loved it and have wanted to find one in Melbourne but it has so far eluded me! Well, no longer! I found one and I am going there very soon!!! I have even purchased The Age Good Food Guide 2007 and also the Cheap Eats, to look through and come up with the delicious culinary venues to investigate.
I am going to enlist the accompaniment of some of you out there to join me in this new plan. So if you have an interest in yummy food and who doesn't right??? Then give me an expression of interest in a restuarant or cuisine that you would like to also try and perhaps you can join me in a leg or two in this culinary journey I am about to start...

Cuisines first on my list are: (in no particular order)
Spanish - Basque Tapas & Wine
French
Vegetarian
Yum Cha
Seafood
Lebanese
Fine Dining

Venues:
Soul Mama
Belgian Beer Cafe
Bhoj -Indian
Borsch, Vodka & Tears
Botanical

My New Couch... and other homely pics!

Some pics from my new home...

Yes this is a pic of my yummy new toffee / chocolate coloured suede couch! I hadn't really done it on purpose, but it seems that my home seems to have taken on a subconcious leaning towards representing the Hawthorn Football Club colours... Hmmm!

The lamp table in my lounge has some pics of loved ones...

My dining table with the beautiful table runner on it that Taryn made for me for my birthday this year...

Above is a close up of the fabric...

Garfield 2

I want to see the new Garfield movie! I love Garfield! The second best lasagne loving thing existing on the planet... Next to me!!! Cos obviously, I am NUMBER 1!

Footy Show Grand Final!

Guess what? I managed to acquire tickets for the Footy Show Grand Final! I can't wait! Surrounded by lots of footballers and footy fans... Hopefully after all the TV stuff ends, the bands play on and I'll get to mingle with the players... Fingers crossed! You never know, I could end up going to the brownlow!!! I WISH!

'Lady In The Water' and 'The Local'.

The other day I went to see the movie "lady In The Water". My quest for an actual horror movie led me to go and see it. Well don't bother! I am soooo sick of going to see Horror (SO CALLED) horror movies, only to want to walk out half way thru. The turning point for me was when the kid in the movie was talking to cereal boxes attempting to communicate with the mystical horror hell world the lady came from. What a bloody joke! Don't go there people!

By the way, does this look like a horror movie pic to you???

Thankfully, it was a free preview cos I would be pissed if I had to have paid for it!

Pancake parlour...

Before seeing The Lakhouse with the girls, we went to The Pancake Parlour... I hadn't been there for a while as the last couple of times I had been, I was utterly disappointed! Which was kinda tragic cos I really love pancakes! But this time, they made it back into my good books! The meal was yummy and hot and flavoursome - albeit somewhat overpriced as always... I had the Tabriz as usual and the girls had a short stack. I'm always up for a visit to the Pancake Parlour so if you want go, just say the word!

The Lakehouse - Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock

I went to see The Lakehouse, with Fee and Lou on the 25th August. It was Awesome! It was such a great movie and had us all in tears and extremely engrossed. The story line was not new, but the twist (altho my dumb brain worked it out and stuffed me up) is not to be expected! If you are after a feel good soppy movie, then I recommend this to you all. Plus, Keanu is just soooooooooooooo HOT!

The Arthouse - in Melbourne.

On saturday 19th august, I went to see some bands that were playing at The Arthouse. I am into punk, metal and live bands in general as you all know so this was a really cool nite. Some of Fiona's friends (Fiona is an old friend of mine who I am doing a bit of stuff with lately due to her being my new neighbour) were actually playing that nite in a couple of different bands...
It is not the kind of venue i normally go to - mostly cos i would feel a little out of place due to the pins thru noses and mohawked and leather clad patrons, but i'll try anything once!
Well it was one of the best nites out i had had in ages! The bands rocked, the crowd was very friendly and the wine was very cheap! (altho I didn't end up drinking it as it was cask wine, yukky and given to me in a plastic BBQ cup) - hey i do have some standards. But if you are into that kind of music and like a live band, give it a try. You won't be disappointed! Apparently the beer still rocked!
The Arthouse:
Venue type: Pub
Always Busy:
The Arthouse is a sure thing, with something on stage seven days a week.
Music Most Nights"
Bands thrash out anything from rock, metal, ska, punk and the rest most nights of the week.

Some pics are due soon...

I have had some requests for pics on my new home to be added and I promise that in the next week I will do just that. I have to take them first - obviously - but I also have to work out how to upload them to the comp as it was soooo easy with dad's as the software was already on there. I will do so soon tho so keep your eyes peeled for these updates...
Also, I have to apologise for the lack of posts lately... I had turned on moderating comments function somewhere along the line and forgotten about it and thought that no-one was commenting anymore so I got a bit slack. So this 'TWIT' has turned it off and will make sure to continue posting again from today. There were heaps of comments waiting to be approved and I didn't realise it. Yeah I know... I used to be a blonde!!!
