The Break Up

Last nite I went to the movies with my dear friend B, thus named after her middle name (which I am not allowed to reveal - but also after what Faith used to call Buffy, cos we both loved that show). I had given her a movie session as a present for her birthday this year and we finally got a movie that she wanted to see.

The Break Up, was not really a movie I had wanted to see, not really a big fan of either stars involved, however she really wanted to see it and it WAS after all, her choice.

Well I am here to say that I am a convert. It was hilarious! I actually loved it and would like to see it again, yes very surprizing I know! I give it a thumbs up and if you get a chance, go and see it or at least the DVD when it comes out.

This is the birthday cake! It is Elmo, from Sesame Street, for those who have been living under a rock for the last 'who knows how long'...

For some reason... It seems that Taryn has been referring to her new baby as their own little Elmo... Not sure why? Though i sure hope that this is not going to be the childs name! Anyway, the cake was cool and for a while there i was excited cos, i thought it was ice-cream cake... But alas, it was choc mud...

There was cake, lots of lasagne and crazy people with kid things attached to their selves. The theme of the day was "we need to get Taryn, used to having a kid around the house. So wear something that makes you feel like a kid." I of course went for the school girl look with the pony tails and mary-janes... Here's a few pics of the afternoon.

Today I went to Taryn's, for her 30th birthday BBQ. There were a few new additions to our normal 'people reportoire".

Hopefully the next addition will be the safe arrival of Baby Higgs.

Last nite I went to see my Grandma for her birthday. She was 84 on the 3rd of June, however I have been sick and have not wanted to visit, so I did not pass on any of my gross snotty germs to her. She was thrilled to see me... I love my Grandma, she is always ready to give you a whopping big hug and tell you how much she loves you. Happy Birthday, Grandma. I love you very very much.

Movie pot luck... follow up.

The venue was awesome, the company great and the movie... Well we walked out after about 45 minutes and went to Lygon street for spagbog and pizza! Steer clear of any movie named Rogue, that comes out next year or any time soon. It was crap! And those who know me, know I NEVER walk out of a movie.

Just have a look at the pics... This is bound to become my fave place to go see movies! Just look at the opulence and all that velvet!

Can anyone guess which cameras took these photos??? Pretty good for a first try. Yes? Still getting used to all these digital thingies. So i'm sure they'll get better with time.

Angel... must get season 5!

Thanks to the wonderful McConville's I have in my life, I have managed to watch 4 seasons of Angel... Finished Jasmine's demise this evening...

I now have to get my hands on season 5! Which may become more costly than previously (last nite haggling over price with Sean) anticipated...
I hate it when Sean is right! In case you were wondering Sean, checked work today for a price check and it seems I am so far, glad I did not make the bet with you! But I will persist and see if I can better it somewhere else... Keep you posted!

We finally had another win! Today we played Richmond, and we won! I know this may not mean all that much to some of you out there, but i love my football and these wins so far this season are few and far between. So i felt the need to celebrate... GO HAWKS!!!

Hawthorn 16.9.(105) defeated Richmond 8.16.(64)

Let's hope there are more of these to come!!!

I am going to see a movie next Monday nite that hasn't even been released yet...

It is a horror flick that is due for release next year! I am rapt!!! I looooooove horror movies...

All I know is that I am part of a feedback session to get reviews on it... Very cool!

Of course, you need to make sure you see the first 2 movies for it to make sense...

But you really need to see it. It is awesome.

I can't wait for them to release it as a trilogy DVD pack,

cos i'll be one of the first in the queue to buy it.

It is also with a sad heart, that I had to watch my dear, dear friend, Koni bury her beloved mum yesterday. It was a very sad day and it was excrutiating to see my dear friend in such pain. Loss is never easy, but Koni means the world to me and there is never really anything you can do to ease the pain of loss that someone suffers. Goodbye, YiaYia. You will be very much missed. xxx

is my all time favourite movie. I love it better than any other movie I have ever seen and I have seen shit loads! I love it better than Kraft Cheddar cheese and I LOOOOOVE that cheese. For shits sake my nickname was, Mouse growing up!

So that's how much i love that movie.

This movie is one of the best, if not THE best, 80's film there is. The fact is, every teen character in this movie can be related to someone we knew in high-school. As a child of the 80's, I can honestly say that this is a representative cross-section of every high school in The world. The geek, the jock, the outcast, the rich pretty-girl snob, and the future criminal. They all exist, to some degree or another, in the classrooms of every high school on the continent. If you don't love this movie, then there is something wrong with you!!!

Well, it is with a very sad heart that I report the death of Principal Richard Vernon! The guy who raided Barry Manillow's wardrobe, made saturday detention a living hell and had no qualms about peeking into other teachers private files in the basement, has passed away.

Paul Xavier Gleason, died Saturday, May 27, 2006 at a Burbank, California hospital from mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer connected with asbestos, which he is thought to have contracted on building sites while working for his father as a teenager

Gleason's passions went beyond acting. He had recently published a book of poetry. His life and loves are best summed up by his daughter with this quote:

"He was an athlete, an actor and a poet," said his daughter, Shannon Gleason-Grossman. "He gave me and my sister a love that is beyond description that will be with us and keep us strong for the rest of our lives."

I bought a digital camera today!!!

Well, it seems technology has finally embraced me again. Now normally I would say that I have embraced technology, but as you all know, I only got a cd player in my car last year that's how far behind I was... So, it normally has to embrace me and nearly choke me before I give in to it. Anyway, after a couple of months of having to borrow Beckstar's, all the time and discussing ellen buying me one in japan, I finally got a great deal on one at work and am now a proud owner of this little beauty. Well within budget and better than the one I wanted, which they had none left of and so they gave me this one in its place... Sorry, Wellen - you don't get to go shopping for me! So expect some more pics being added to here over the coming months... as I try out my new toy!!! Woo Hoo!

Pauly Shore comes to Melbourne!

I recently went to see Pauly Shore, when he came to Melbourne. He is a very funny man! Many would know him from movies such as Encino Man or Bio Dome, but he is a comedian at heart and this dirty xxx rated show did not disappoint! there was lots of pussy, tits and ass references as well as vulgar gestures and gyrating! The audience loved it - there was not a dry seat in the house!!! He he he! No-one was disappointed. Plus he's still a hottie, even if he did say he thinks he now looks like John McEenroe - the tennis player!

Libertine - Johnny Depp shines again!

Hope we get to see some of Johnny's butt!!! Although all this Johnny, with long hair thing is really working for me. Yummy!

I simply love John Malkovich!!! He is an amazing actor and so hot in Dangerous Liaisons... Some would think even hotter than Keanu Reeves... Who was also in that movie... Anyway, really want to see this movie too.

As you all probably know, i really love the scary movie... Not that all of these are scary, but the ratings that are given to them sure are a bonus! Bring on the scary pants movies!!! I love them! Plus Johnny Depp is in 2 of them and who can deny that he is one of the sexiest men alive! In the immortal words of SMG's catherine to Sebastian, "i'll let you put it anywhere"!!! Johnny, you are a hottie! even as a crazy pirate type... MMMM, yummy long hair too!

Local team footy!

I love the AFL as many of you would know, GO HAWKS!!!
However, nothing really beats a HOME game at a local ground... I used to go watch the local games almost every weekend in high school. Kinda made it even better when your boyfriend of the day was an ace player and you love the game... Go Lavo magpies!!! he he he!

Anyway, Let me set the scene...

Cars parked around the oval, spectators rugged up against the chill, locals gettin' into the beer and cheap cask wine... and lots of horns beeping when your team scores a goal!!! Although there was a lot of standing around for number one, as illustrated in the following couple of pics.
Its Especially fun, when you have someone who is playing. Here are a few pics from a game I went to recently. Yeah, shoulda known you would be number one!!! So predictable. It was fun to go to and heaps of fun to watch.
